A New Year

2016 and we are pushing into our fourth month.  Meetings, hauling missionaries, visiting families across the county.  We make more friends and feel more love as the days go by.  Of course, there are some disappointments but we keep trying.

Heavy rains in January and flooding.  This
is a park by our house where we walk.  The path
is covered with three feet of moving water.

We have grown to love these folks.  They moved down here
from Arkansas about a year ago.  He is struggling with cancer
and chemotherapy.  They are so warm and welcoming.

We occasionally get some cool high pressure with clear blue skies.  A beautiful site.

Made the front page!  This was at the backpacking program.
There was a photo spread in the back with the other missionaries and participants.

Colorful relishes at the "Gator-head" store

 Pulling taffy with the sisters.
Inevitable transfers.  New faces and companions.  We are still together though.

Our dear friend, Mattie.  This 89 year old suffered a stroke last year
and came home from the hospital three days later and has fended for herself.
She has built much of her house and still works a garden.  She is
delightful to talk to and we are grateful to know her.
