Heating Up!

Of course the locals say, "You ain't seen nothin yet!" but the temperature was 96 on Memorial Day and it felt pretty hot.  Spring is over and its on into summer.  Most days are the same; drive, drive, drive.  We visit and visit some more.  We feel the culture and love to meet new folks.

A dinner with the missionaries.

The Chipola River has a certain charm as does my mission companion in a smart pose.  This area is a gold mine for bugs and crawling things; especially every type of lizard you can imagine.

Elder Malan's last district meeting.  He is now our zone leader.

Lucky to have one more visit before the heat hit.  Martha and family came down to the beach and we visited for a couple of days.  So good to see the grandkids.

We had a stretch where we were the LDS Missionary Moving Services.  Lots of moving and lifting.  We also had the pleasure of painting a fence and barn for an older sister in the ward.

Beautiful blossoms everywhere of trees and shrubs I have never seen before.  Life is popping out everywhere, including some piglets at some friends farm.
Turkeys and a successful selfie below.

I've been given a little raised bed in town by a friend and I planted a little garden.  We have already had squash and green peppers.  Picked our first tomato yesterday!  Pretty good for May 29.

Every Monday I volunteer at Chipola Family Ministries
These are some of the buddies I work with, including the director.

The sisters in our zone and our two elders helping Molly find some yarn...you always need more yarn!

We are seeing plenty of snakes on our travels.

Cattle egrets are everywhere you find cows.

Lastly, I marvel at the majesty of these live oaks.  Photos can't really do them justice but this is just a piece of the tree, its limbs running parallel to the ground spanning the length of the house.  Gorgeous.
